So i have a question..
i've been on vacation for a week, and my budgie stayed at my dad's place. he has a budgie too and those two were allowed to fly around all day. Now i'm back and my budgie is not tame anymore!

when i got her her wings were clipped, and this helped me taming her pretty quickly. now her wings are grown back and she won't cooperate when i try to put her on my finger, she'll fly away as soon as i'm half a meter away. I have tried it with millet, softly speak to her you know..but it won't work! in the cage she's fine if i come closer with my hand, but she won't step up(which she didn't do in the cage before, but out of the cage she would).

So do you have any ideas on re-taming her? should i clip her wings again, like before? i'm afraid she'll be very sad if she can't fly again..

i really don't know what to do..

Hi. I'm new here. I have some past experience with Budgies, but I haven't owned one since I was 17. I'm 25 now. So I have a couple of questions and I hope that you can help! :)

I always had one solitary Budgie, but this time I'd like to get several at once. I'm thinking three or four. For you more experienced bird owners, would three or four males work best? I am a bit scared of breeding... I have zero experience there and I am afraid that my ignorance might cause them some kind of harm! What would you recommend? I am more concerned about what's best for the birds rather than what I'd like ideally. If I have several birds on one cage, would it be best to give them one large food bowl to share, or several smaller bowls throughout the cage? How would I go about bonding with several birds? If they are never totally loving and hand tame, it's ok - I just don't want them to scatter in fear forever, or to have three or four little biters for two decades. :)

hi, i have a question about my budgie Kiko.
i got her this year February, and she was tamed pretty quickly. her wings were clipped by then.(they're grown back now) now i've been on a week vacation, and she stayed at my fathers place. he has a budgie, too. due to his work he could only bbe home at night. underwhile, his budgie and mine had a lot of freedom: the cages were open all the time. Now that i'm back, my budgie will step up, but she'll fly away after ten seconds if i don't have millet. does anyone now this situation? and do you think clipping her wings again would help? i'd rather don't, so do you guys have tips?

I got a pair of Normal Green Budgies from Petsmart Yesterday and I thought they were male and female. Well today it seems as the ceres look the same. Anyway, they are about three months old so I wanted to tame them before they can breed. Well here is the amazing part. I got one of them to step up. Only after 24 hrs! I am so impressed with myself. :yourock Anyways, I will update this daily or anytime something significant happens. Oh, forgot to say, I'm 12 and this is my first birds ever.

UPDATE!. So today I found out my budgies were both boys. I decided to name the older one Millet and the younger one Reed. I will post pictures tomorrow so you guys can see them. I am going to get them some friends and I am maybe going to get a pair of older budgies so I can breed them this year. I hope I can breed Millet and Reed next year.

I've got 2 young budgie birds that got along for the first few weeks but now seem to be irritated with eachother, all the time. I was under the impression that they were opposite sex, but now I'm not so sure. I'm trying to load a few pictures to see if anybody can help me figure out the sexes of my birds. One of the Cere's is really light pinkish color with white around the nostrils while the other is blue spotted with purple and almost a greenish color. The one with the blue cere has a lot of mutations. I'm not sure if that makes a big difference.
