Sounds like he's sick... Especially if there's wet stuff coming out of his nose... If not, he still mite be sick, or he might have just gotten something stuck in his nose (like some dust) and that can be really bed, too... Take him to anh avian vet as soon as you can!

Re: My cockatiel may be sick?

How long has it been going on?
It would probably be best to take him to the avain vet as soon as possible, especially since you say his nares are red, and he is sneezing a lot, and both more than normal for him.
He could also have a bit of dander or something stuck in one, which the avain vet will be able to get out.

Any signs of an upper respiratory tract infection in cockatiels (sneezing, nasal discharge, red nostrils, etc.) should be taken seriously b/c birds have very sensitive respiratory systems and problems can quickly escalate.

It might not be anything too serious, but you need to get it checked out.

Also, sometimes keratin and other dusty substances can build up in the nostrils, showering your cockatiel will help reduce that build up, or even just bringing the bird into a steamy bathroom.

Going to a regular vet who "sees birds" will likely be a waste of time and money for you, and can cost your bird its life.

Please see an actual AVIAN vet for this matter: www.aav.org/vet-lookup to find an avian vet.
