not likely to have eggs this year?

Well, the summer has come and gone and my birds didn't lay any eggs. Though, just this last little while they seem more interested in each other, but aren't mating.

Is it most likely they will not have eggs now until perhaps March or so?

I'm kind of disapointed. I was really hoping they'd have some this year.

How many pairs do you have?
Budgies tend to breed when in the presence of other birds, whether it be one other pair, or sevral.

Have you read about breeding, and are able to comply with this?

Have you looked through all the information here to see if you can do anything else?

I no longer have other budgies (I didn't buy more when the others died because I wanted to keep room for babies, I don't think I would likely give them up). I do have a cockatiel who does the egg laying thing.

But that might not be the same as having other budgies?

I've done all the reading and I am ready but my birds don't seem to care that I did the reading!

You know, I read some place on the net once that playing sounds of budgies doing their mating chirps can help. I haven't tried that yet.

basicly there isn't any way to KNOW when they'll lay, or even IF they will!
it's really great you've done heaps of reserch. but like you said, they don't know it, and they couldn't care less! so you'll just have to wait and hope! use the time to learn and reserch more, there are ALWAYS new things to learn!
    good luck, and have patience!

There is a breeder I like asking questions to so I could always ask questions which is really nice. I also have one friend who has raised cockatiels and budgies. My friend and her stories is what makes me never want to start an aviary!

There are so many things that can go wrong. Mostly things like when she told me how they can sometimes have gruesome fights!
