    Why do they gring their beaks?

    Annoying or not, just what FJ said it is a sign that they are happy/content. It can get really loud when all three of my birds do it at one time!

    Lol the rose breasted cockatoo does it pretty loud
    They grind their beak to wear it down a bit, sharpen it and prepare it for hulling seeds. They usually do it before they go to sleep for the night, but also whenever they feel comfortable and content

    I'm not exactly sure if this is what you meant, but my budgies rub their beaks on their perches when they get wet, does this mean that they like getting a bath or what.o

    Beak grinding, they rub their upper and lower madibles together.

    It makes a sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard. Eeeeeeeeeeek! It's enough to drive you mad! But if it's good for them, then I'm glad they do it.

    wen im tryin2 sleep at nite they both sit there going '' grind grind grind'' and i jus wanna chuck a sock at them , but i give up. and eventually fall asleep, and then wake up in the morning to hear ''grind grind grind'' again!!! i spose its nice 2 know they are content. just let them get on wth it........lol

    Hehehe My babies usually get on each of my shoulders and start grinding happily

    it's adorable I love to think that they love me and want me to know how happy they are

    they do that because they're happy, make them mad and they'll stop. JK don't make them mad, its just a sign that your a good owner
