    Andy Griffith song/laughing bird

I've been playing Homer the Andy Griffith theme that I got off one of this site in a previous post. Yesterday out of the blue, he started whistling it. When my youngest heard him she started to laugh hysterically(sp?). Of course, then we all laughed...including Homer. Now he sings the first part of the song and LAUGHS. I think we all had sore sides last night! It just cracks us up. If he starts to do his "charge" whistle and makes a mistake, he laughs. Does anyone elses birds laugh? :haha

Too funny! My old boss had a blue faced amazon he said could laugh like a woman and a kid. I think in some cases not trying too hard is the best way to teach a bird how to talk or whistle or whatever. They just pick up the sounds of their flock, it seems!

That is wonderful. I saw on a telly show one time they had I believe a tiel whistling the whole theme song from the Andry Griffith show. The tiel never laughed tho. I think you have an added feature by your tiel laughing.

My sister's friend had an african grey that laughed all the time. He also had a dog, and the bird would call the dog's name and say, "outside!". The dog would then run around the bird, all excited, and the bird would laugh at it. Human laugh! It was sad when the dog died though, and the bird would call and call for the dog, but nothing came. The owner said that the bird got really depressed for a while, but he bought a new dog after a few months and things got better.

    Re: laugh

Mun Ki laughs, imitates my cough, and even worse imitates my sneeze (had a cold for about a week and a half).

Sometimes he is covered up for the night and I hear his laugh (mine) from under the cover, then I laugh, then he does, and it becomes a "feedback loop" until my eyes are watering from laughter. My "sig other" just looks at us like we have lost our minds:haha :haha :haha
