    To anyone with a grate...

    ...that isnt removable. I just recieved my martinscage and foudn out that the grate isnt removable. I really have no clue how to clean it withotu removing it, and there're no way I can dissamble the cage. I put newspaper over the grate but I just staretd doing this so the poop from, b4 is still there. Can anyoen give me any tips and I put this in the general discusssion bcz I wanted to adresss all bird owners.

    A grate that isn't removable is pretty useless and unhygienic. I would contact the manufacturer and see how they suggest you clean it other than through the cage door.

    Possibly return it and get a different type with removable grate.

    I agree. That would make it really hard to clean. You would have to clean it through the door of the cage, which is not doable. I would definitely contact the manufacturers. Maybe there is a trick to taking the cage apart that you have not found yet. Martin's cages has a pretty good reputation, so I would be surprised if they made a cage with a non-removable grate.

    keep us updated! I didnt know they made cages with fixed grates, I think its incredibly stupid.

    Man that really stinks!

    If you don't get a reply soon you might want to try e-mailing necroangel from the budgies n tiels site, I think necro's always been pretty big on the martin's cages.

    Rather than emailing, give them a call. That way you're guaranteed a response as they're right there whereas emails can be easily missed or ignored.

    I've read somewhere that someone just brought their's outside and hosed it down.

    Though that might not get rid of the extra dry glued on stuff
