    Dark Feet vs. Pink Feet

We have noticed that the other cockatiels' feet are very pink. Dudley's (he is a little over 2 years old) feet are very dark with some pink barely showing. Does this have to do with diet? He is strictly on a pellet diet (w/ some millet). Yes, his feet are clean, we give him baths! My husband and I were just wondering. He seems to be a very healthy and happy bird.

No, I doubt he is sick. I think it probably has more to do with what type of mutation he is. I've never heard of miscolored feet and legs as a sign of illness. Maybe phone a vet to find out for sure, unless someone here knows for sure.

I have two cockatiels with pink colored feet and one with kind of darker, odd colored feet. Nothing to worry about. It's just pigment.

Skin color varies from tiel to tiel. As long as you are sure that his feet aren't sore, dirty or hurt there is no cause for alarm

Re: Dark Feet vs. Pink Feet

yeah, it's like cats- the color of their pads & noses vary depending on their coloring.

muttonchop has dark pink feet & dark nails, dando has light pink feet & horn colored nails, uno has dark pink feet and dark horn nails.

feather color can vary based on diet, however.
