The Perfect Opportunity

Ashlyn went to watch the Muppets Take Manhatten on StarzEncore tonight in her room. She was kicking back and totally relaxed when I had the idea that it would be good if Rebby and Bella were with her together in her room. Since she is really wanting Bella to bond with her as a bird mommy like my BabySamuel does with his BirdMommy, I've been having her spend lots of time with Bella. She changes the cage, food and water, etc. She is the first one to talk to her in the morning and she has Bella with her every chance she gets. So tonight when she was watching television, I thought it was a good idea to have Bella in her room for the first time and with Ashlyn watching television, it was the perfect opportunity.

Ashlyn placed a towel down on her night shirt to keep from getting bird messies on it and I put both Bella and Rebby on that towel. All three of them hung out together by the light of the television. Not wanting to disturb the birds, I left the light off and took a video clip of the two girls together so everyone could see how bonded they were in such a short time. They've been this close since we brought Bella home. It was the perfect opportunity to get video of them together because they were "pre-occupied" or rather should I say...Bella was.

Awwwww....that was so sweet and dramatic with the music and all! ;0) They really have bonded which is so great! So happy for you guys!

If I can get the flash on my camera not to be so blinding, I can get some better pictures. I did this video with my digital camera and then used a movie making program on my computer to edit the music with the video.

They just really love each other and I am just blown away by the fact that they are inseperable from each other. They *have* to be together and get upset if they can't. And they call to each other all the time which is cute. I am just glad that Rebby has somebudgie now to keep her company and that Bella loves Rebby as much as she does.

That is sooo adorable, good job! Was it just my computer or was it kinda blurryish?

it's kinda blurry, I can only guess, but likely:
-digital camera made for stills with vid option of 30 sec (like mine). comparatively poor qualtiy to real vid cameras.
-dark room, out of focus
-closeup setting not on
-or..done for effect

but I'm sure Rhema can say

Yes, it was blurry from the low lighting. The lights were off in the room and the only light was the glow of Ashlyn's television. If I'd have turned on the light, they would've quit being cute.

So I left the light off and crept up on them with the camera. And the camera is not the world's best for video. It's an old camera, an hp435 with 3.1MP and a 5x digital zoom and that only works for pictures and not for video. You can't do a close-up with video on this digital camera, it's ancient.

We keep talking about getting a new one but right about the time we decide to get one, it's in the middle of the year when next year's models are coming out so we just keep waiting. For now, it serves it's purpose.

Bella had us laughing again tonight because when we came home from the grocery store she started running back and forth in the cage on the bottom of the cage. The other five just sat and looked at her like they honestly didn't know what the big deal was that we were home. They couldn't figure out why she was acting like she was starved for company and even Rebby her "bestest friend" looked offended.

There is a wide strip on the bottom so she had to hop up so we could see more than just the top of her head and her eyes running back and forth. She would run three steps and hop up and then run three steps and hop up - I was sooo laughing at her, it was like,

"Hi! Let me out! Let me out! Where did you go? Can I come see what you got at the store? Do we get more of those shredded orange things today and what about those green things that are like beans? I like those, I didn't get those at the pet store. Did you get more of that Mom? Ooh, please...pretty please say you did! Didya, well...didya?"

She is sooo funny!

And when we let her out, she rode the door all the way open and I swear she leaped out of that cage and flapped for as long as she could before she landed in the living room and then bolted for the couch where Ashlyn was playing Sony PlayStation. She chirped up at her a few times and then went running as fast as her little legs would carry her around the living room getting into everything and anything just chewing at everything. It was so comical! She was just everywhere and I never laughed so hard at a budgie "on the run" and one who was just a real "Curious George." Such a nut and sooo entertaining all the time!

Rhema, that was so well done. You are a very talented person! I just loved the "special effects" LOL. Beautiful background music and the stars themselves were absolutely awesome......I smell Oscar nominations.

Yes, I think Oscar nominations are in order but I think the best is yet to come. I just have a feeling with Bella around that life isn't going to be dull not for even one moment. We will be eating green jello again this evening but we will make sure that Bella is put away. {big grin}
