    Possible colors?

What colors can I expect from a dark green male and a blue female (i dont know the actual type but heres a pic)? They have mated and the blue female is spending a lot of time in the nestbox... yayyy
    Green male: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../greenbird.jpg
    Blue female: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...t/bluebird.jpg
    Blue female's mom (albino): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...0954784331.jpg
Blue female's dad (right next to the albino) : http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...onvict/dad.jpg

(The big baby you see in the nest with the mom is the blue female..... kinda cool actually, knowing i raised and and know it is breeding!!)

So, what colors can i expect from my green and blue pair???

The parents of the blue female have also produced a cobalt. All of their babies were some sort of blue, i think thats weird because none of them show any white from the mom! Most of the babies are even a darker blue than the dad! Genetic stuff is soooo confusing! They also produced 2 birds that are EXACTLY the same as your Sky.

    Re: Possible colors?

In a nutshell, Green is dominant over blue. Unless your green bird is split for blue all the babies will be green. However, the babies will have the potential to have blue babies when paired with a blue bird. Without knowing for certain what color the green bird's parents/grandparents were it will be hard to tell what color the babies will be until you see them. If he is a pure green, the babies will be green.

Ok, thanks! I am almost sure that he will lay an egg today but I dont know if she did yet because I am at school now. When I get home, I will check. Her abdomen was starting to swell yesterday and her vent was getting bigger so she does have an egg in there.

Yaay! The blue female layed her first egg this morning! Her mom, the albino has been going into another nestbox with her mate and she will most likely start a new clutch in a few days so i will have 2 clutches hatching around the same time!
