    Sun Conure Price

I was playing with a sun conure today at a bird store...what an adorable bird!

I asked what his price was just out of curiosity and a clerk said $400. Is that high or low for a sun conure?

    Re: Sun Conure Price

breeders overseas normally sell them for $350 to $400 pet stores $600 to $800 so i would say that is a good price for the sun conure in that bird store.

i'm getting one of these in june next year

in a bird store? a decent price here for the bay area. i know a breeder that sells them for $250, but for a store that seems right. i love conures. they are adorable goofy little clowns.

the other day at my fave bird store i met a one-legged sun named mango who LOVES everybody. she quickly snuggled into my shirt & melted my heart. since she is a rescue, her adoption fee includes a fabo special needs cage & accoutrements. $550 takes the birdie & all her goodies home.

anyone in the bay area looking for a special bird- this is it!

Those prices seem about right...as always, they are cheaper from a breeder! I've seen them at PetsMart for $450-$500 even!

    Thanks everyone. Was just curious.

Both the sun conure and the macaws were great photo subjects (I went to the pet store for a photography project of mine... btw -- thanks Nikki, that store you told me about let me go over and take pictures).

Hehe, no problem! Not that I've ever been to UT or anything, but the title of the store sounded interesting. Maybe they will have a baby pi one day?

I bought a tame Sun Conure in a reputable pet store. The selling price had come down from $699.00 to $499.00. I asked the girl to let me handle her. She's very sweet and tame. Then I asked if I bought the cage and her supplies if they would bring the price down to $399.00 and they said yes. So I got my first Sun Conure today. I have a blue female parrotlet and a female cockatiel. All of my birds have their own cages and playgrounds.

We named the cockatiel Buttercup. The blue parrotlet is Pixel and we are leaning towards Salsa for the Sun Conure.

In the midwest, most breeders are $300-400, pet stores $450-550. The highest is Petco... My Wesley was either $450 or $500; I have forgotton.

    So $400 is pretty good.

DONT BUY FROM A PETSORE!!!! Sry...i mean i work at Petsmart as the animal specialst but if you're gonna buy a larger bird..aka..tiels or larger go to a breeder...Petsmart was $550!!! i bought my sun conure for $275 from a breeder that has been breeding for about 10 years, and it was DNA tested...and petsores only guess...they dont put in the time and money to test! But I love my job and working for Petsmart! great pay, discount, and I love working all the animlas and seeing everyone's pets! I often bring my Sun when I have to do bird shopping and I am not at work!

    Re: Sun Conure Price

Yeah we fell in love with a sun conure once in a petsmart. It was 500.00. The dog trainer there told us we should just go to a bird show that they would be much cheaper there. (we know the trainer as a personal friend so I think she was giving advice she wouldnt normally give to regular ole customer). After research we decided on a tiel instead because we read the sun conures were too loud for apartments. We will definitely get one if we move into a house though. The one at petsmart was SOO affectionate!

    Re: Sun Conure Price

Yeah petsmart's birds are used to lots of different people..but some get stressed by it too. We had one bird that just couldn't handle it at all and thankfully someone was able to buy him and take great care of him...I have a GREAT breeder if anyone wants the website its http://www.birdcompanions.com/
Its been under construction lately but if you keep trying or need contact info i will be happy to let you guys know!
