    Toy: Goofy Links

I have read online that this toy can be dangerous. My budgies have it, and I was wonderin how risky you think it is?
    Do you have this toy?

I have it too, but my birds ignore it so I don't put it in their cage often. I think the risk would be that toes might get caught in the small space between the openings on the links if they climb on it?

no toy is "safe". all toys mus be monitored to see if it is likely that your birds may get into trouble. if your birds do not have issues, then it is OK to use for you. what may be a safe ytoy to some may be dangerous to others.

i know of birds that ingest too much wood when given wooden shreddable toys, and get crop impactions. so they cannot have wood toys. i know some birds cannot safely use fabric toys because they shred them too fast & get nails caught in the loose threads (before their people have the chance to trim them).

but many more birds can play with wood & fabric safely.

i always introduce new toys on the playgym, so i can be around when they first play with it. if all goes well, the it can be placed in the cage with no problems...

I have that toy also with my budgie the budgie who can find a problem with any toy and make it dangerous and he hasn't had a problem I even have it hanging in a corner where it's looped sideways. And he has never had a problem and he's a really small budgie and he can't get his head through anything. He can't really have string toys though because he had a near hanging!
