    Mad duck noise?

Payton makes this noise out of the blue alot. Or, when he is pacing at the bottom of the cage to come out, and I put my hand on the side of hte cage, he makes it.
And Breezy and Cuddles make this noise sometimes when I'm holding them (so they don't fly away, if I need to take them somewhere in the house).
At first I thought it was becuase they were mad, but Payton will be singing and chirping and all of a sudden, start making this "mad duck noise". Its quite funny. It sounds just like a mad duck! Though I've never heard a mad duck, I don't think.

Do your bird make this noise?
    What does it mean?

I always thought/think of it as the "fussy budgie" sound. I hear them make it even when they're just talking to themselves. Maybe they're telling stories that that's where the ogre comes in? hehehehe

Yeah, actually Snowdrop does "quack" when she doesn't like me grabbing her. I agree that this may be the fussy budgie noise, but you're right, it's pretty funny.

My budgies do it when they are in a hyper play mood, especially Puff, who is the most active. He likes to pace back and forth and make the mad duck sound. Then he flaps his wings and flys around. He seems to be happy and not afraid when he does it. Strange little birds, aren't they?
    LOL
