    Re: SAFE cleaning products

Well, alot of cleaners and stuff are not safe. I know vinegar can be used as a cleaning agent safely. . .

Thats all I know though. Just keep the birds away from any cleaners that you use.

I think I'll move them out of the room when I use the furniture polish. Let the room air out well before I bring them back in.

As far as wood-cleaning things, like Pledge....spays are bad.

My avian vet suggested using the wipes in place of sprays. Still not the best, but much better.

    Re: SAFE cleaning products

there will be residue on your furniture from commercial cleaners which your birds could ingest. i suggest natural cleaners. orange oil or linseed oil is a good wood polish...

just don't clean and tell friends and family the reason for the growing mess is that you are protecting your birds kidding

but agree with above, many aerosols / sprays very bad for birds. (and us too!)

    Re: SAFE cleaning products

I hadn't realised that furniture sprays could be harmful.

I've been using Pledge and Mr Sheen in the same room as my bird for over a year.

Guess I had better get something else.
