Can a cockatiel eat peanut butter?

I was wondering if it's OK to feed peanut butter to a cockatiel?

I think they use small amounts in some treats and what not, but it's not very good for them considering the fat and sugar content.

Peanut butter is OK in small amounts, as said, because it's high in fat.

Rather than using a shop bought jar, buy some peanuts and whizz them round in a food processor. Add a small amount of ground nut oil and you have home-made peanut butter that doesn't have any of the nasty additives shop ones can have in.

Gabriel and Dominic like a little of the "no added salt/no added sugar" peanut butter every now and then.
It is a high fat and high protein food, and should only be given as a treat or sometimes when the bird is sick/recovering from sickness and needs extra fat and protein in the diet (if directed by a vet). It is often used for very sick birds that are not eating as a "keep them alive" food while blood tests and such are done to find out what treatment they need.

    Peanutbutter

I read in a book that not feed anytype of peanut weather it's just the nut or peanutbutter because they contain a microscopic mold that can be very deadly to a bird if consumed enough.
