Can cockatiels eat nuts?
I am an owner of a 9 month old gray female, and have been wondering if my bird can eat the nuts that are around during the Holidays? Nuts like, walnuts, pecans, hazelnuts and such.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, from both baby and myself

Re: Can cockatiels eat nuts?
Nuts are fine as long as they have no other additives such as salt. They're high in fat though so should be fed only a small amount as a treat.

Thank You very much for the information, I try to make sure that the baby has a varied diet and lots of fresh veggies, mostly green things like spinach broccoli and green beans.
Again Thanks

Re: Can cockatiels eat nuts?
I occasionally give a little almond or cashew bits to mine. One nut they won't touch are walnuts. I'm not sure why but they do not like walnuts! I used to give them peanut but I read about common toxicity in them and they are not a nut but a legume so I just stopped giving them.
