    Re: Clipping Wings

when flying becomes too high. Sweeties wings are clipped so that she can fly but cant get height or soar through the air. but she can fly from a high spot to my held out hand. and can control her landings.

Indis wings are clipped really badly, so she falls like a rock. so i will let her grow wings out , let her learn to fly.. and then give her a decent wing clipping.

How often? After the molt, which is twice a year or whenever flight needs to be restricted.

Depends on your needs...but usually after the moults, like Luna said, because the flight feathers grow back in...

    Re: Clipping Wings

The one question I have, which I'm sure I know, but just wanted to make sure. If there are new flight feathers coming in, I can still clip them right? I Just can't go past those smaller feathers on top of the flight feathers? Meaning don't cut close to where you can see the shaft starting (where the blood is). Am I correct on this? Thank you in advance for the help.
