    Quiet Cockatiel?

For 3 days i have been sleeping over at my cousins house. They have a bird named Mr. T, Mr. T is my best friend, i spend hours with him. Since ALL my cousins are boys( all are younger than me ) they play violent games which in my opinon is boring, so i play with their bird. one thing i realized was that he never made any noise, now me and Mr. Tiel have known me since i was 11,( now 13 going to be 14 ), and so he is comfortable with me. My cousins spend about 2 hours with him everyday and they also never noticed that he never made any noise, is something wrong with Mr. T? and Mr. T is a cockatiel. I once hid in a closet to see if he does anything, and he just does what every cockatiel does, drink, eat chew, sleep, preen, eat, sleep etc. Is Mr. T broken? (lol) and i go to my cousins house alot, i feel like he is my bird.

I don't think that Mr T is 'broken' he may just be a quite bird......also because people are not talking to him often that might be a reason as to why he is quiet.

Are you sure Mr. T is a Mr.?

If Mr. is a Miss, that could explain alot. Girls are usually a lot quieter than boys and that may why "Mr." doesn't sing.

I guess he is a she if she is quiet. The animal shelter told my cousins that he was a he so we believed him. But i dont think they will call her Miss T. They named him Mr. T because Mr. T is a guy that does something but i dont know. But my cousins talk to her trying to see if she can talk, hahaha they dont know that girls usually dont really talk english.

yeah, i would guess he is a she. my tiel does "hoot" a bit (when i leave the room), but that is all as far as noise.

i'm glad mr. T (named after an 80's pop icon from "The A Team" TV show, btw) has a friend in you.

    Re: Quiet Cockatiel?

I wouldnt worry about it. Generally tiels are not classified as "loud" birds. And the females are usually quieter than the males, as has been said. Mila never ever makes any noise unless i leave her (eg in the morning). Sounds like you guys get along pretty good. IS there any way you can post some pics, like others have said?
