    Bye-Bye Band!

This morning at 8am, Holly has an appointment at our awesome vet to get the band removed from her leg. She HATES that thing, and picks at it incessantly..so today's the big day! I'm not brave enough to try to take it off myself-I have this scary mental image of the band rebounding when it's cut and hurting her leg.

    Wish us luck!!

Ooooh! Good luck! I've often thought of having Patchie's removed too but I'm too chicken about them accidentally cutting her leg. LOL

Let us know how it goes! Are you going to ask to keep Hollie's band as a keepsake? I hope she enjoys her freedom! LOL

Suzanne, all the best. Glad you are having a vet do it, I would too.

All done!!! I love our vet-he's the best. Holly's feathers were a little ruffled when he was done, but she was herself again within minutes. She keeps checking her leg like she's gonna chew on it, then she's like "oh, yeah-it's gone!" The band was way too heavy for her-she has a big callus that is pressing slightly on the joint-it should go away in a month or so.

Normally, I wouldn't mess with the bands, but she was clearly unhappy with it. I'm sure glad it's done, though!

I am glad it went well. I sometimes worry about Abby's getting snagged on something. Hers is just a pink band.no numbers or anything so I wouldnt mind if her vet removed it.

That is cute how he keeps trying to nibble on his leg and then realizes the band is gone.
