Just raw regular cinnamon sticks? I wasn't aware they could chew/eat that! Is it safe?

    Re: Cinnamon Sticks

Cinnamon sticks are a healthy toy/snack for birds. Ground cinnamon can also be sprinkled on their foods for a little treat.

Rich: I saw someone say on here that nutmeg is BAD!!! So just to be safe, don't give it...... I can't find where I saw it tho, I'll keep looking....

On the other hand, I'm going to go and give Boogie a cinnimon stick right now!!!! I'm sure that he'll have fun with it!

    Re: Cinnamon Sticks

Mine eyed the starry-woody things (anise still in shells) with great suspicion...

But I just left it there.

    They'll get used to it!

But REALLY glad to know about the cinnamon sticks. I'll give them those immediately! Thanks.

Thank you for pointing the cinnamon sticks out. This is the first treat I've tried that my budgie likes. He won't touch anything besides seed.

    Re: Cinnamon Sticks

On a similar note...I was feeding my birds some jalapenos when my son walked in and noticed. He was pretty impressed. I told him they do not have saliva which is what makes the pepper seem hot to us. He replied "Bet it hurts comin back out though" I didn't know what to say and stopped feeding the peppers. Any comments?
