Neighbor's budgie lost its mate, need ideas...

My mom was talking to a lady a couple streets from us that we used to know and my mom found out that she has 3 budgies (all I guess are in seperate cages). One was just given to her by our local school's nurse. It just lost its mate. Our neighbor said it was getting really bitey and depressed. She was wondering if there is anything that she can do to help the budgie feel more comfortable and to get it moving.
Unfortuantly, this is all I know about it. I don't know if its a male or female or how old it is or what it has to keep it active. I do know it is a flighted bird and I don't think has ever been clipped.

Anyone have any tips? I searched but couldn't find anything (plus our internet is being reeeaaallly slow so I can't do much). Plus, I've never paid attention to anything like this becuase nothing like this has ever happened to me (having a bird loose it's mate).

I haven't seen them in person yet, but I think I'm going to go down there next week to give her any information that might help her.

    Thanks so much.

I know when Grendel passed away Kinsey was visibly depressed. I can only say to have her give the bird lots of love. Offer millet to make sure it is still eating. Oddly Kinsey has reacted the opposite..and is more friendly to us humans and Abby. Meadow is still in quarantine..so it has given us a great opportunity to bond even more to Kinsey.

I would tell her to just give her little bird lots of love and attention. If it is nippy..just sit closely to the bird and talk sweetly to it.
