    abandoned eggs

Are you suppose to remove abandoned eggs from the nest?
What are the symptoms/signs that the mother has indeed abandoned her clutch?

Are you asking a hypothetical question or do you have a hen that is off her eggs? If you have a hen that is off her eggs...how long has she been off them?

    Re: abandoned eggs

from what I understand, budgies wait until they're through laying their clutch before sitting on the eggs. If you remove them, she will continue to lay eggs to replace the ones you remove.

You need to make sure she's getting plenty of calcium and protein at this time, to keep her from becoming egg bound.

Leave the eggs alone for at least a week of not sitting on them, You don't know if they're abandoned until then. Hopefully someone will come along who can give you an exact timeframe. Until then, leave the eggs alone.
