Rope Perch

Im hoping this was the rite place to post this questions, sorry if it's not.

In my cockateils cage I put in a rope perch. Its starting to look faded but its still really good. Is there a reccomemded way to wash this? With my wooden ones I just soak them in hot water.

I put mine in a pillow case and throw them in the washer.

I use a little dishsoap and water...and rinse well. I do have an extra rope perch so I can switch out with a clean, dry one when it needs to be changed.
