balding lovebird
hi,
i have a pair of lovebirds... they have been with me over six months... they have a nest box.. but my shopkeeper said they were not the breeding type... they did lay egg twice but both times they felt like playing ball ball with it.. so they all ended up outside or just simply one day disappeared.. may be they were trying to be houdini... anyway i have no problem with that cause i did not buy them for special breeding.. but now one of my love bird is getting bald.. i have searched everywhere but can't find the fallen feathers..or the way he/she is loosing his feathers... it hasn't advanced much only a little part above the nostrils.... but i am worried... is it a disease or is it some behaviorial change.... plz help me

Re: balding lovebird
Maybe you should take him/her to the avian vet..better safe than sorry, as birds hide their sickness from us
Thanks to Little Cricket for the great sig!

Re: balding lovebird
I'm guessing the other lovebird is plucking him, but I dont know, its best to take the bird to the vet if possible, and I would remove the nest box and seperate them.
