Is it normal for budgies to be so active?

Lately it has become warmer and the wild birds are flying back again so there's a huge increase in the amount of chirping. My budgies obviously thought the wild birds are talking to them and they chirp back and this goes on the whole morning today. There's also an huge increase in activity and suddenly it's like my budgies are so playful! They're actually climbing around and dangling down from their perch etc.

Since I had my budgies from mid-winter they had always been the quiet, moderate-active type. I was wondering if it is normal for budgies to become more active when it's warmer or is it because of the chirping outside OR are they sick or something? I'm not saying being active is a bad thing, but is that normal?

My birds have also been showing an increasing level of activity. Chirpping and all around sillyness. Mostly in the morning hours also. I think it normal but I am looking forward to the other answers too.

Quite normal. They are hyper little balls of fluff.

Normal. As the days are getting longer, their activity level increases. Their body clock is saying to them that the longer days, warmer weather, breeding instinct, and more foilage mean more food is available, so they are not conserving their energy and are more 'flirty'. Now is a good time to try new toys, new foods, etc.

My budgies are always super active... I'll have to see if they become more energetic, I didn't think it was possible!
