Dumb question? Are there personality differences in the colors and mutations. Say is one more people friendly than another? Does one tend to talk more than another? Do boys generally talk more? Thanks
I have heard boys do talk more. I have a male and he loves to whistle and talk!
I have boys and girls, and yes, the boys do talk more. Actually, they rarely shut up! My girls are a lot more cuddly. They're equally as naughty as eachother, though

Anyway i think you should adopt from mickaboo too, they have tons of tiels and their not that far away, but if you must buy from a pet store "The Bird Shop" is the best place to buy birds around here!
BTW: i do know of a guy of lives in grassvally who breeds pastel face tiels,
i don't have his info anymore, but he comes on CL all the time so maybe post there too.
Nedra, I just found "the bird shop" online the other day and it sounds like a real good store. Does it sell lots of differant food like Goldenfeast, Organic seeds, etc? I want to go down and check it out and if you say it is a good store it will be worth the hour drive to get to it. On the web site it dont say what they sell at all so maybe you can tell me more... please:-)
I dont know of any good breeders in the area up here either, never knew any one in grass valley. There is a lady in Auburn somewhere on Highway 49 that I hear has tons of birds, I think the name is called "For the love of birds". I heard her birds are real good and she also treats them good. Maybe the Avian doctor, Dr. Joseph in Roseville will know of a good breeder in Sacto.
go to the bird shoppe on auburn blvd sacramento she is a breeder and she gets her stock from eric cedar hills in lodi. she is a very good person and hand feeds all her babies .,....her name is sharron by the way yep i know her through my father used to breeder for her as well ,. but has not done it since 1997 since his p-assing good luck .or you could drive down and see cedarhillsbirds, they do have a web page as well

Thanks everyone. I looked at the bird shop and saw some nice birds. Went and looked at Christie Gallegos Heavens birds in Shingle Springs. She was very nice and had some wonderful babies.
I brought home Native a pastel faced pied. He is a doll. Thanks for all your help.
dr. joseph...is he the avian vet off of foothills blvd that looks kind of like that french guy on that movie GReen mile? I LOVE him! The first time my sebastian had a blood feather, he removed it for me and then taught me how to safely do it myself. He has done many wonderful things for my birds!!! I highly reccomend him to anyone living in the SAc. area!!!Dr. Joseph in Roseville will know of a good breeder in Sacto.
Dr. Joseph's office is off Foothill blvd. but Dr. Joseph is a women doctor. Maybe Dr. Forney who works in the same office is the man who helped your bird, he too is a great doctor (with a heart of gold!!) who took care of my bird a few times when Dr. Joseph wasnt in the office. I love them all there, even though Dr. Joseph is the only one who is certifyed, Dr. Forney and Dr. Sanshez also know birds very well

Boomer girl...i don't know if they sell that or not, they sell all kinds of seed mixes by the pound and also millet spray...so thats what i get there! but i can ask for you
Tuesday...i don't who sharron is but i do know kathy, she helped me with quiggly and i think she breeds tiels also. but i do know for a fact that they do buy from other breeders (not just that one guy) in the area!
