    Re: "The Nursery"

Well all dark colored baby keets have black beaks. White/yellow and those light colored keets have normal yellow/orange beaks. The babies that have dark beaks all turn orange/yellow soon after they fledge.

    Re: "The Nursery"

Ah thats right...... The dark colored keets all have that green/bruised beak color.... Only white and yellow keets have the bright orange beaks when babies or adults. The babies that have black beaks when young will end up with that greenish hue such as your male's and the pair below...

Doesn't a bruised beak mean liver problems or lack of vitamin k? My budgie's beak is bruised, and that's what my vet told me.

    Re: "The Nursery"

Im not sure if you mean bruised like on the surface of the beak or whatnot but this isnt the case. I dont mean bruised as in ugly looking, just the dark colored beak on a dark keet.
Can we get a pic of your budgies beak??

    Re: "The Nursery"

Well, bruised as in the blood doesn't clot and it makes the beak darker. With my guy, just the edges are bruised looking.

I'll try to get a picture of him and upload it, or see if I have any that show his beak.

    Re: "The Nursery"

Yeah thats a different thing... on those, you can tell something is up. All that I'm trying to say is that not all keets have a totally yellow/orange beak. Blue, gray, and those darker colors have a greenish beak.
