Fruits/ Vegies ur budgies LOVE

what fruit and veggies does your bugie like?
How do you feed the fruit/veg to them? how much do you feed?

Any help would be great!

4... big giantic green leaves (which they rub on to bath more than they eat it)
3... Carrots
2... Lettuce
And No. 1... BROCOLLI!!!
I used to chop everything up before they'll eat it but now I just tie everything to their play gym.

kamino TRIES to eat everything i do, but his favorite foods he actually CAN eat are carrots and broccoli...kamino goes nuts for them! i heard peas are a big hit with budgies, but kamino hasn't gotten any yet because i'm trying to eat food so i don't have to take so much with me when i move. kamino also likes bananas and red apples very much.

i feed him a baby carrot cut up a day along with a small piece of broccoli, just the tops tho.

For my budgie, she likes romaine lettuce, celery leaves, and #1 brocolli.

But budgies are obsessed with broccoli and carrots! They are okay with apples. I have tried bannanas and other things, but I have yet to tried peas.

Mine also love carrots, and I think it is their favourite. They also love broccoli, watercress and peppers. They will try pretty much anything, but they definitely seem to prefer veggies to fruits.

Zippo, for all the things i've tried...have consistently loved carrots, I get the little mini carrots (forgot what they are called) but the ones that come in little packages, it usually last me a while, till it goes bad. I usually...cut one in half or give him a whole piece and cut little slits in it so he has a head start so he can start knawing on it. If i don't he won't eat it,

He also likes Kale, makes him go crazy... but he also likes to carry it around and dunk it in his tub to bathe in. ^_^;

I see a pattern here and it wasn't untill I was typing it that I just realised it and yes they are copy cats in most things they do :

Bonito is crazy about corn. Doesn't matter how sweet or unsweet or dry. If it's corn, he'll gobble it up. He also loves broccoli..I buy the whole stalks and pick off the "trees" in it and give him at least one per day. Find it on the floor a lot but only because he moves it around with his beak while eating...

He'll occassionally eat apples, though I don't offer them as much as I should. I'm thinking of trying him out on cucumbers and lettuce next week. Bought some grapes the other night, going to see how he takes to some of those, too.

Wishing I could get sprouts but not sure how to work with or grow them yet.
Bonito wants whatever I am eating, and he makes it clear by watching me eat with a look on his face that he tries to place as curious but which we both know is "I want that, too!"

My little Spooky is crazy about broccoli and carrots which I cut into tiny pieces. For the most part, he's eaten every kind of vegetable Ive given him.

BUT: He's terrified of fruit. He simply will not eat them, let alone look at them.

We put grapes in his cage once and he movies as far away from them as possible. Ive tried giving him apples, blueberries, strawberries, banana, everything, he's terrified. And it so far has been the only thing he;s afraid of!

He's also scared of rice.

I dont get it!

Do you all cook the broccoli, or raw? My 2 budgies won't touch anything green.
They like brown rice, and scrambled or boiled egg. Oh and corn. That's it!

mine get their daily plate of shredded romaine lettuce, corn and grated carrots. and then they get something else added to it each day. i alternate apple, broc, cellery, grapes, peaches and whatever else is in season. they love sprouts and watercress. the watercress i put into the birdbath, that way it lasts a few days!

Uh... dandelions? As in the weed that I pull out of the garden... every stinkin' day... the same routine...?
My birds like anything I give them it seems. Atleast one likes something, the other doesn't. I usually give them carrots and broccoli, eggs (they hate that), and let's see... they like apples too. Carrots is they're fave, though.

you can buy a sprout kit, half pint, pint or quart, which includes 4 jars and all the supplies to go with it, including a jar full of sprouts. Once your sprout mix is gone, you can order refill bags.
These are my favorite sprouts. They do not mold easily, are easy to grow- just soak, sit, and rinse. You dont need to add anything to them- all organic. Best of all, my birds love them

broccoli (oddly, that took some convincing)

unsalted roasted pecans
unsweetened toasted coconut

Her favourites are definitely corn, egg, rice, and peanuts... but she seems to enjoy all the above.

She's been offered other things, but these are what she'll eat of her own accord (ie: me not giving her very, very, small portions from my hand).

Percy actually smelled like corn this morning, she had so much last night.

My birds wont touch anything that isnt APPLE. I will put half an apple (cut up) in the cage and within an hour EVERYTHING is gone...

11 budgies that will eat almost every veggie under the moon(especially broccoli!) but not so much fruit...some of them do however like a piece of banana or melon covered in seed once in a while. The 12th birdie will only eat carrots...not whole carrots, not grated carrots...but only when I cut it up into little tiny birdie bite size cubes! And of course, I happily oblige!
