    Cage Cover

Ok I have Adrian my Goffin's Cockatoo in our dinning room/living room (they are in the same area no doors to split it up.) He is out for awhile in the mornings then I put him in the cage so he is used to it (I don't always run errands during the day but I want him used to staying in his cage for awhile so when I do run errands he isn't upset just to let everyone know I am a stay at home mother and a full time student of an online college so I am home almost all the time) then he gets time out in the evening until we go to bed. I do not have a cage cover for his cage and I was wondering should I get one for him or is it ok to not have a cage cover. He is near the windows (bay windows) just to let people know where he is located. Thank you for the help.

    Re: Cage Cover

I would get a nice cage cover..My mom made one for Stormys cage with a skirt to hide the bedding for about 16 dollars. Its really nice too! He seems to sleep very well...plus birds need to be getting at least 10-12 hours of sleep at night....So it would prob. help if you got a cover for him to get the sleep he needs
Thanks to Little Cricket for the great sig!

Ok I can do that. I can even make one myself what kind of fabric did your mother use for the cage cover?

My mom used denim (sp?) and it is where there are flaps on all sides and you can lift each on sperate (made it easier as the cage was against the wall) I know it only took her about 30-45 minutes on the whole cover, but not the skirt, the skirt took a little more time as it was harder to sew.
Thanks to Little Cricket for the great sig!

    Re: Cage Cover

No there are no problems but with him being near the window I do not believe he gets a full 12 hours of darkness as I keep hearing that they need. So I want to make sure he is happy and healthy. I just want to do what is in Adrian's best interests.
