First Batch of Homemade Toys
Well this is the first of what i hope to be many toys..that i try to make! ^_^;
Well my very first one... I made with a golf-sized wiffle ball i got from the dollar store, 12 for $1. Nifty, eh? ^_^

Its got jute twine threaded thru the holes and pony beads.
Then this one is kinda like a smaller..rainbow kinda thing. I got the idea from a toy i saw on the CA Bird Nerds site. If i went bigger it might not fit easily in my cage... so here is is...

it consists of popsicle sticks, (that i dyed with food coloring and alcohol) pony beads, a marbella donut in the middle to hold the quick link (nickel plated), and two bells at the ends, oh and also.. SS wire on the top and jute twine on the bottom to hold it all together.
Next up... we have another one i made with popsicle sticks.

Basically..its just SS wire, with sticks drilled with a 1/32 size bit and stacked on top of each other. There is also a wooden bead i put there to give it a flare. ^_^; And nickel plated quick link on the top.
I have another one but its currently in Zippo's cage, so i'll take a pic of it in the morning.. its just a "semi" homemade one. lol.
Thats all for now. ^_^ I'm planning to make more later.
PS: i got a lot of my parts from here: http://www.cabirdnerds.com/index.html
when i ordered..they had this free shipping thing, but they don't have it anymore... cuz they were like..over worked or something that one time. bummers. >.< But they have really good stuff, and i think pretty good quality and are really nice. ^_^

Awesome! Making toys is so fun.
What gauge wire did you use? The wire I have doesn't cut or bend very easily..

Re: First Batch of Homemade Toys
i'm thinking gauge would be the size? Well i used 1/16... but its really hard to cut with like wire cutters or something..hence the use of the PVC cutter.
Thanks for the compliments Little Cricket and Cruzade

Here's the other toy that i said was in Zippo's cage.

This one has a base from the atomic rattle from the Dollar Tree, wooden beads, marbella donuts, pony beads, mini munch balls... and jute twine. =)
