My husband and I have Zebra finches. Colors include normal grey, chestnut flanked white, lightback, pied, and fawn. We have several clutches at this time.
We also have a pair of yellow rumped serins. They hatched their first pair of eggs - but just didn't know how to tend to the little ones afterwards. Sadly, neither survived. The hen is laying again. We have put a couple of her eggs in with the zebras - and will also let the serins try to raise a couple again on their own. Hopefully - someone will be successful. We're not entirely "finched"..we also have 2 pairs of parakeets and a pair of ringed neck doves.
I have been searching high and low for someone selling crested zebra finches. I would love to have a young breeding pair. Are they so rare as to be impossible to find?
