    Re: Scam Ad?

Well, it does seem suspicous that they keep mentioning the shipping fee. Perhaps you should ask for the phone number so you can talk with them and maybe hear the bird? Or offer to drive out there to see Nora?

If the owner wants to find a great owner as much as they say, I don't see why they would refuse.

    Re: Scam Ad?

I checked with google, there is no Cameroon, OK. This is another of the "African" scams that have been popping up. Usually they want the money up front. If it is legit, you can pay C.O.D. Write that to this person, and I bet they press you for the cash up front, or disappear completly.

    Re: Scam Ad?

99.8% chance it is a scam. "I will like you to" is something A LOT of scammers commonly say in their emails, because they are bad at English. Cameroon is a country a lot of them claim to be based in.

    Re: Scam Ad?

It is IMPOSSIBLE to ship a bird overseas right now because of avian flu. There is absolutely NO WAY around this. Scammers don't care about this because there is no bird involved. Don't get caught up in the mess.

    Re: Scam Ad?

I would say almost definitely a scam
"i will like to" was my first clue.
They also seem to get a bit obsessed with you sending them the shipping fee toward the end there.
Also the whole bible stuff...they like to play the god trick a lot...using religion to make them seem like good people...I often get fraud emails from "reverends", or they call places and pretend to be a reverend.
i say email them back and tell them you'll have you're shipping company pick it up lol, then see what they say.

    Re: Scam Ad?

It is 110% a scam... I had birds for sale online and one guy in africa emailed me saying he would like to buy my dogs that im seeling immediately... They just copy and paste in a hurry since they try to scam a lot of people and ads. Then I emailed him and said that Im not selling dogs just to see what he says and he says "ok I will still buy your birds, how much are they and how much to ship?"

    hahahaha

    Re: Scam Ad?

when i was first looking for a Grey i answered an add i found, come to find out that they also were from Cameroon, and when i started asking more and more questions the email replies stopped completely they were trying to get me to take a pair of greys( 1400.00 for the pair ) sent me pics that looked like they came out of a book, just a tad to perfect in my opinion, i asked about health guarantees ect , no more replies...
