He/She's Here!!!

My pearly conures here! It's so cute and so sweet He/She is has already making noise, wanting to be let out when i come in the room. He/She is really good at step up and already wants to be with me! I'm so happy! It's eating quite a bit though, is that normal? My budiges don't eat that much and I've never had a conure before sooo....not sure.

I don't have too much advice for you, since i'm a new conure owner myself...but the first thing Swaps did when he got settled in was pig out.

O'malley did the same thing when he came here. But he soon settled down and now he eats normally.

None of my birds ate very much the first few days I brought them home. It's just the nerves. Keep an eye on the droppings over the next few days, but I'm sure he/she is just fine. Sounds like your new conure is already adjusting great! Congrats and keep us updated!

I agree, don't worry about the extra eating. Conures might eat more than your other birds anyway, and he's going through a transition. If he's hungary, he should just be allowed to eat. You only have to worry if he keeps eating all the time and starts looking unnaturally round.
