    Re: Rosey's Big Day

    Everything will be fine
The bird will get over all of the touching and it doesn't take to long for the vet to do the exam.
I thought my bird was going to have problems because where I got him from but turned out he was fine. Maybe you will get a surprise when the vet says that everything is cool
A suggestion...if you want to keep he/she calm in the car you might want to keep the travel cage covered. It usually keeps the birdie calm because he can't see the weird place that he is in.
Good luck with the vet and let us know how things went!

    Re: Rosey's Big Day

    Hi Karen,

Rosey will be OK -- don't worry. Pet store birds aren't all sick and poorly, and private breeders don't necessarily have all healthy birds!

And many birds have to go through ordeal after ordeal with a vet (because they're sick) and they don't suffer any negative after-effects from the handling and the poking and prodding.

Of course, it doesn't sound like it at the time, they definately make their displeasure with the situation WELL known!!! , but if the vet is an experienced avian vet, he/she knows how to handle them, and how to do what needs to be done with the minimum of "trauma" for the birdie.

Please let us know what the vet said.
