Last night i tried giving Penny a single piece of broccoli to see if he was less intimated by it.

He still didn't eat it BUT he did court it for an hour or two... heartwings, singing and talking up a storm while making half circles around it, it was hilarious

Mine just started eating the pellets. I'm not sure who though, I only know because I saw them in the babies' crops. (probably Spaz).

Spaz will try any thing (fruits & veggies) once. KayCee on the other hand refuses to even get near any new food. Still trying though. They both LOVE cheerios.

I think I'm going to try the corn bread thing. Is that regular corn bread with stuff added, or a special recipe?

Nightlady, I must say I found your thread quite funny! No chance Penny will eat his broccoli now... you cannot eat the one you love!

LOL! That's a good point, i hadn't thought of it in quite that way

I don't know if this is the molting that's going on or what but he sure does seem to love a whole lot of things these days, hormonal little bird

He even made "best friends" with my daughter's budgie who he avoided like the plague until recently. lol

I guess i'll have to hold off on introducing new foods for a bit, he seems to *love* everything i put in front of him. He's dating half the veggie family as it is!

Merlin is finally eating something other than millet and the occassional nibble of cereal: broccoli! She was terrified of it at first, but I convinced her that it wasn't scary at all. Now she's happily tearing at a piece of it.

Nightlady...the vision of Penny flirting with the broccoli has had me laughing! Cute! Mine like shredded carrots. Tried the broccoli slaw and they LOVE it!

My new baby is eating really good roudybush pellets, & yesterday he ate spinach, garden variety rotini noodles, corn, peas, and green beans all mixed together. Not sure how much of each he ate but he was definately in the bowl diggin around, today he's tried broccoli, apple, more spinach, and some romaine lettuce. Little bits at a time I'm sure it helps that Mia (my other bird) is a good eater and he watches her then he knows it's "safe" to try.

My three will eat or at lest try almost anything I put in their cage....but I gave them corn on the cob the other day, and it was tiel drama all over the place...crowns were in the air for a half an hour before they would even go near it, but two of them did end up eating some of it.
