    BIG crop??

Curious.. is it possible for Baby to overfeed her babies?? Today I took a peek at them and took them out to clean the box and noticed that the biggest one had a crop that took up about half his size!

Yesterday I thought Baby wasnt feeding them enough.. obviously I was wrong because today all had full crops but this baby is HUGE! Maybe because it the biggest baby and therefore cries loudest so mom feeds it most??

    I took pictures..

    see how big it is!!

I know that an over streched crop isnt good.. what should I do?

i don't know if it's ok or not, but i'd say wait a few hours and see if it goes down any. if it doesn't then maybe she's got a crop impaction (?).

    Re: BIG crop??

Erica, mine look the same way. So I guess maybe that is normal. I was kinda worried too because it looks 'bumpy' and really gross! After seeing your pics, I don't think I am as worried.

    Re: BIG crop??

My big baby is only 4 days old and it's crop is also HUGE! I actually posted a question similar to this right before I read it. LOL. I'm not so worried now.

    Re: BIG crop??

Ya I checked also... Mine is OK. I find that the baby's crop is the biggest in the afternoon/Night. I am guessing they want to make sure the chick is feed and now I don't her the baby churping at night so I am guessing that extra food holds him over until morning/afternoon.

Mine also have the same size.... i think its normal. Mine are curently 8 days old, but when they were 4-6 days old, their crops were HUGE compare to body size.
