    Safe Indoor Tree?

I am going to be making a home office for myself and having Pedro's spare cage in there to keep me company while I work. Instead of buying another play gym, I'd really like to buy a tree for him to climb around on. An indoor tree, of course. I would like to know if anyone has done this and what sort of tree works best for staying indoors and safety?

Ash is safe for birds. Just make sure you rinse the wood off with vinegar and water first, to clean it.

    Re: Safe Indoor Tree?

So would an ash be safe to purchase at a garden store? I am looking for something that will keep growing. Also of course I realize I have to avoid plants that have been treated with pesticides. Maybe there is an organic store I can buy the tree from.

There must be some common trees found in cockatiel aviary's.

Does anyone here live in NJ? Someone must know of where to buy a safe tree for a cockatiel! Maybe a mail-order catalog?

If I were you, I would visit nurseries and inquire of them if they use pesticides or not.
I know a couple of the nurseries where I live use organic potting soil for all their plants. I don't know if they use pesticides (haven't enquire yet), but I doubt it.
