    Girl scout cookies

What are your favorites? Ours are the Samoas. We got three boxes this year and are already out. Problem is, we can't find any girl scouts anywhere now that we're desperate for cookies! I've been waiting for this time since last year--I'm used to being mobbed by girl scouts but they have been sparse this year. Ah well, I guess it is good news for my thighs anyway.

Okay, I believe we only have 3 kinda available: chocolate cookie w/ chocolate cream, vanilla cookie w/ vanilla cream and mint chocolate. My fave out of those three is mint chocolate.

I agree that there are so few Girl Guides/Brownies out there now. Definitely no more door to door (safety?). We have to count on our local grocery store who supports them and allows them to sell at the doors. We stock up!

Oh my goodness, if you're a fan of coconut samoas are little discs of heaven.

They're these little shortbread cookies that are covered in chocolate and caramel, with a generous layer of toasted coconut shavings. Those and the thin mints are usually everyone's favorites.

I love Samoas! They were by far my favorite. Too bad I'm going to miss out on them this year! My Spanish teacher had a daughter who was a girl scout and sold these and so it was easy to buy them... I was quite pleased I had easy access to samoas, hehe. I bought a few boxes from them last year.

We went to the dentist today and an older girl - do they have teenage Girl Scouts? Or maybe a young troop leader or something? Anyway, she came in to deliver cookies to the ladies in the office who had ordered some, and everyone in the waiting room - myself included - scrambled to buy some. I bought 2 boxes of thin mints. MMMM

Yeah, I love the thin mints. I like the peanut buttery ones too. I've never tried the Samoas. Clearly I'm missing out!!

I love the caramel delights (aka samoas), and my favorites were the lemon pastrys...but it think they replaced that with something else lemony that I haven't tried yet.

I was alone in the family liking the lemon ones...but I love lemon flavored stuff...especially lemon bars!

All they sell here are the ones Peachee mentions. My fav is the mint, but the other two are not as good as they were when I was a Brownie ( 20 +yrs ago!) They changed suppliers a few years back and the cookies changed. They are to sugary/artificial tasting.
My daughter was in Sparks for one year, she didn't care for it,and neither did I.The whole organization really has to update itself. We had a formal tea for goodness sake!No wonder less and less girls all the time get involved in Brownies/Guides.

    Re: Girl scout cookies

This thread inspired me to eat some mint oreos but they were very disappointing compared to girl guide cookies. I only ate 5.

Oh -- thin mints. I love thin mints. I have this tinted Burt's Bees lip glaze that tastes just like thin mints, and I've been thinking of them all week! It must just be that time of the year.

    Re: Girl scout cookies

having now read and laughed at all of the previous posts it's clear that it's not drugs that are the main cause of problems with-in our communities, it's the innocent looking little buggers who push the various "mint-toffee-peanut-caramel-and-triple-death-by-chocolate" covered cookies that we should all be concerned about...

Thin mints are the best, IMO. It makes the $3.50 a box worth it.
