So that means...PICTURES OF AVA...

It is an amusing sign, isn't it...almost makes ya feel like she's a bargain... but to Ava's
credit, she does have a million dollar personality...

There were a couple of other birds that we got to "observe" out of their cages that day and so I'm going to just put in a couple of their pics...I know...it's AVA'S thread...but these others are special too...

ohhhhhhhh gawd that soo makes me miss the bird shop... we had hawkheads and I was tempted at one point to snag up the one i'd bonded with.... we had mm2's and they went alot cheaper than what they are asking for Ava... 3500.00 if i remember right....... i just went and looked she dont have them listed on her site but this is the list for her cockatoo's.. Peter, I am CERTAIN that you are holding out on us. You must have some pics of Ava with her crest up! The macaw is beautiful, too. I love that shot from the back with his wings outspread.

It's strange to see a bird with a sign that says "Manager's special" - it seems like those sorts of signs should be on refrigerators or vegetables or something. With the pricing, it really makes me laugh.

Beautiful breeding pair of Major Mitchell cockatoos in immaculate condition, with cage/aviary - $1000. They are already beginning to investigate the nesting box....
that is one add i have found. I have seen them go for heaps more and heaps less. How ever you need a license to keep them over here i think. That side of it is a bit gray for me cause it all depends on what state you live in. The price also depends on how shady the dealer is.

im in aus and i saw a hand raeread baby major mitchell for $500 it was a real charcter they are very expensive over there just like macaws are very expensive over here.

in south australia a parent raised , " not hand tame " MM will sell for $250 - $300 ( $234 - $280 canadian ) / ( $202 - $ 243 US ) or for a hand tame MM around the $500 mark ( $467 canadian / $404 US )

Ok...a few more...in these you will notice a down feather in AVA's beak...this turned into a little game. Jenn would take the feather...blow it into the air, and AVA would watch it and if close enough, try to grab out of the air with her beak...it was hilarious. The pics with her crest up and head tilted was when she was watching the feather...

















And AVA in mid fluff...

so i think you should go back in a week or so and offer them $5,000...! and see what they say..!

You're right Lisa, Hawkeye does look a little rough around the edges. She's really starting to get that "been in the system/pet store" far too long look to her. Her cage is too small IMO and her tail is starting to look ratty...and from those pics it is starting to appear that her beak could use a bit of a trim. Then again, we get to see Loki...and because of the care involved, there is a night and day difference...Loki is so much better looked after...
