Vacuuming means a bath?

I was cleaning the bird room yesterday and while I was vacuuming Pepper was flapping around and opening his wings like he was getting a bath. There however I didn't spray any water and there wasn't a dish of water around (other then his water dish.) Has anyone else's bird done this??

Could be that the sound of the vacuum cleaner excites him, as I know my budgies flap around a lot when I turn it on, or it may sound like a waterfall to him or like running water.. hmmmm...

I ran the vacuum this morning and was so afraid how Cheeka was going to act. She stayed on the back of the couch and didn't even flinch

Tsuki flaps when she's really worked up about something. It sounds like Pepper was just overexcited. Whether it was GOOD excited or NERVOUS excited, I can't say for sure!

Tali is so afraid of the vacuum all the time, he just hides in the far corner of the cage. If the vacuum is any were closer to his cage he flips out.

I have somewhere read that you can use the sound of a vacuum cleaner to tempt them to have a bath, if they don't know what bathing is all about.

So, I'd say, you have it easy, from now on! Put a shallow dish with luke-warm water nearby, switch on vacuum cleaner, and let Pepper have the time of his life! (You'll get a clean birdie... and a clean house! heheh!)

Neo gets on my shoulder and likes to look down at the vacum cleaner and watch me as i clean.
