Is it reccomended to keep an outdoor parakeet aviary near Seattle? It's very temperate here.

    More info-

The average summer temperatures in the seattle area are about 68F (20C)... we call 'hot' about 80+ degrees. Temperatures only drop below freezing an average of 15 days a year (probably a little more like 30).... oh yeah, and it rains probably 60% of the year, most of that in the winter and fall months.

    Anyone?

    Thanks.

I don't know the answer, but I'd be interested in knowing as well

I don't know the answer either, but I live in Vancouver, Washington. I would be afraid to house my birds outside because of all the rain (ughh, I despise the rain. I'm from socal ) and the wheather is a roller coaster ride here until you reach July 4th.

Maybe if you had some kind of rain cover? But all parakeets are from australia where thy should never encounter below zero... Maybe ir oyu had a heater built in and a rain cover, or you could just bring the birds inside on bad days.

Well -If I had one it would be of course, covered - and there would be an (untouchable) heat lamp on in half of the night shelter for them to all go under if they're uncomfortable.
