    when does egg laying stop?

how do you know if there will be anymore eggs laid? if theres only one egg laid...and its been over 48 hrs since that egg was laid? will there be anymore? should i leave the "fake egg" in the cage for awhile? when is it ok to take the fake egg out of the cage?

Sammie has laid the one egg..from her perch...has not even gone near the egg or fake egg at all. How do we know if she will lay anymore eggs??

i have read that if you take the eggs out too soon, that causes them to lay more eggs. and i dont want to risk chronic egg laying.

    any info/advice is welcome

Leave the fake egg in for at least a week. She is still in 'breeding mode' so even if she ignores the egg, chances are her hormones are still in gear. It's better to leave the fake egg in than take it out and have more eggs.

Make sure she is getting 12 hours of sleep and less fatty foods right now. Take out anything that resembles a nest, and things should cool down for her.

yes her hormones are still raging lol she is still "masturbating" from time to time. she gets 12 hrs of sleep every night anyway. shes a good bird about sleeping. once we shut the lamps off, its pitch black where she is...and she wont get up until we turn the lamp by her cage on. she doesnt have a "nest" she had a small box..with a hole in one side and the other side wide open...but she never went in it, she did chew on it but thats it, but we took that out after she had the egg.
