Try millet. Get them used to eating just the millet out of your hand. Then start holding a piece of broccoli (most budgies love the stuff) with the millet. They may end up sampling it and find they love it! This is the method that worked for me. There are others as well that some members may let you in on. Also, try searching the forum for previous posts. Good look!

    Re: fussy budgies

I've had my budgies for about 4ish months now, and just finally a couple of days ago was able to get them to start eating veggies. It takes time with a lot of them! I was able to do it by having them watch my finches, which eat anything. I put some veggies in for the finches, and they started eating it, as usual. I put the same food on the playgym for the budgies, where they could see the finches eating it... that's all it took - they saw birds eating it, and realized it must be food. They've really taken to it the past couple of days!

You could always try putting food in there in different forms... cut up small, blended into a paste, whole, cooked or raw... it'll take some experimenting to figure out what they like. And as long as you get one to try it, the rest of the flock will follow. Good luck!
