    Air cleaners and teflon?

I finally have my air cleaner/filter.

I got the Hepa Honeywell Model 17000N I'm really anxious to get it in there and get it cleaning their air But.......

But I got to thinking, in the realm of air cleaners, what is the possibility of any of them using any non stick or teflon type things inside of them?

Is that even a possibility or am I just being really paranoid?

I have a Honeywell air cleaner that I used for many years in the bird room. I ran upstairs to check what it was. It is an Environcaire HEPA, cost around $400 at the time ten years ago or so. It is round, it has a charcoal filter. We had no problems with it except that it blew the dust around because of the wind that it created and was also a little noisy. I like it better for the upstairs hallway. Perhaps it is similar to what you got, I had no problems with it.

I am the paranoid type as well so if I were you just to make sure and give your mind a rest call the company and ask them if they have teflon in them. They will be able to tell you if they do or dont. I did this when I bought a portable heater last winter because some of those have teflon in them and it is always better to be extra safe and call the manufacture and tell them you have a bird and need to know if they have teflon in them.
Fly Free Boomer, we will forever love you.
