    Help...Tiel acting weird?!

    Hello

I don't know what is going on but Morgan is about 21/2 years old and Larry is about 2 years old! I am pretty sure that they are both boys!!! Morgan is going under our table in the corner of our living room and hunching down in the corner and attacks anyone who walks near the table...even Larry! He is my snuugle baby and loves to be snuggled and is never agressive but definately wants to be left alone under there!!! Do you think that he might be sick or something? I thought he might be laying an egg....but Im pretty sure he's a boy! He has the coloring of a male whiteface! I just really hope he is not sick!

    Has anyone had similar situations?

    Hope you can help!

    Thanks

Maybe he is just hormonal? A couple of weeks ago my male was really nippy..not his normal sweet self. I chalked it up to him being hormonal because of his nippy behavior. I seem to go through this with him once or twice a year.

Are you ABSOLUTELY sure Morgan's a male? That sounds like nesting behavior... although some people on here have had their DNA confirmed males behaving the same way, it's usually a female thing. Got a picture of the little guy?

See if that link will work!

Im 99.9% sure he's a boy though! But, i do have 2 of them and they try to mate at times!

But, he wouldn't even let Larry over there!

Hm. Well, I'm not even going to throw out a guess on gender since I don't have experience with WF, but I will say this...
If Merlin, being female, can act like a boy all the time, I don't see why Morgan, being male, couldn't act like a girl.

Looks like a whiteface male BUT he's also behaving in a hormonal manner, protecting an area he perceives to be a nest. Females are not the only ones who look for nest sites. In mated couples, males AND females scope out areas for suitable nest sites, and its the male's job to protect the site once it's found. The crouching may be the "hunkered down and sway" position that is supposed to be an intimidation technique.

To stop him from behaving in this manner, you need to block access to this area, and any other area he can claim as a nest. Usually that would be dark, semi-enclosed, cozy areas.

My mojimoj lol (mojo) looks exactly like your little fellow and he is nesting. Like Nicole said males do this as well. Mojo does it all the time - except he is a breeding male and has a mate and a nest box attached to the cage, but he still tries to chase everyone away. Same with Gibbles my other mating male, he just wants the area for his mate and babies. Are you sure Larry is a male?

i think that at sometime all birds will go 'hormonal' for a period of time, differing between individuality; Flannigan my female goes through nasty phases about 2 times a year lasting about 2 weeks each (which my gloves are prepared for!).

But when she does get REALLY out of hand i simply remove ANYTHING that could possibly resemble a nest, i did that and her mood disappeared after a mere 2 days (sounds like a TV advert lol )
So try that and see how it goes, but dont panic they come back to their original selves eventually.
