    Found possibly injured baby bird.

Which is ironic, seen as though mum and I have been thinking about bird rescue, however they could at least wait until we're more educated.

Obviously a cat brought it in and he must have escaped and squirmed it's way underneath one of our furniture, after I picked it up it chirped and just sat in my hands, seems pretty alert and I just gave it some rescue remedy, and put it in front of my heater in a case covered by a dark jacket.

It bit my mother, probably saying "the cats had been lookin' at me for ages, why did you not look to see what was there!" when I seen the cat poking her head under I immediatly got the torch to see what it was, and hey a cute wee bird!

However after googling, I still don't know what to do

any advice would be muchly appreciated!

Just a note, it's around 9 pm now.

my mum thinks it could be a sparrow also.

send some pictures, keep him in a small cage with a soft bed llike thing and make sure he has water. Also try to see what food he'l eat, seeds, worms (worked for the one i found) pellets fruit anything just make sure he eats.

If he is really alert and eating well try to find an animal rescue or possibly let him go the closeest place you found him. Can he fly?

If you know the nest or where it came from, the best thing you can do is return it. Its parents will know what to do. If you can't find the nest anywhere, you may have to help it to survive - is it a fledgling? Is it eating on its own? Any details about it or pictures you can post will help us to help you.

Re: Found possibly injured baby bird.

I woke up at 6am to feed it some meat with egg yolk but it'd died.

It seemed pretty young and I think there may have been something wrong with it's legs, so I dunno if there would have been anything I could have done as it was quite late at night and the animal rescue is way across town.

If I was to let it go, one of the cats would have just got it again as there are so many in our naighborhood.

    Poor wee fella.
