I just can't believe it. She was so fine yesterday. I found my Buttercup dead in her nest box this morning. I just don't know what happend..

It's gonnah be hard for a while..

Thanks guys.. I have no idea what happend. It could've been anything. Bungie, her mate for her whole life, has been calling to her all day. I feel very sorry for him.. He's puffed up and not moving much. I hope that he isn't sick and is just a bit upset.. As I type this he is trying to get into the nestbox (I closed it) I feel so bad..

Buttercup is the Lutino, Bungie is the Grey.

Oh no mate, I am so sorry for you. She was so loved! Maybe she died from eggbinding if she was in a nest and it was a random death?

I hope Bungie keeps his lil head up, Im sure he is gutted. RIP Buttercup

How awful! I am so sorry to read this about Buttercup. She was a lovely bird and you must be heartbroken. When Tribbles passed (one of my lovebirds) her life mate Puc was very sad and lethargic for a few days- didn't eat much, didn't want to come out of the cage, but did flock calls to her. I was worried.

I decided to see if he would accept a new friend and I had him play with Buc outside of their cages and slowly got them in one cage (took a couple of week's time). Now they are quite happy together. I'm not saying this will work for Bungie, but it may help to keep him out of his cage for a little longer and with other birds so he stays active and social.

You have my sympathy and I am so very sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for you and for Bungie. Be gentle with yourselves and I hope that Bungie's poor broken heart is feeling a bit better soon. I'm sure you are giving him lots of love.
