    Flapping wings

    Hi,
I've noticed that sometimes my budgies start flappping their wings at each other inside the cage. Then sometimes they make these really loud noises that are very scartchy. What do these things mean??

    Thank you,

    Christa

    Re: Flapping wings

The wing flapping is just a way for them to get a little exercise and keep their wings strong. You'll probably notice they do it more often on days that they haven't had a lot of time out of the cage. The scratchy loud calling is just something they like to do, especially hens. Sometimes it means they're unhappy about something, most of the time they do it just to make noise and be loud. Unless they're actually fighting or biting at each other, you have nothing to worry about.

Yup, my three hens do it if they've been in the cage most of the day... it's pretty intense when 3 of them are doing it all at the same time, hehe.

Yeah, each of mine have done these flappies from time to time.
It's cute, but can be noisey. I think to, sometimes they just do it for attention.
