Offering Birdy Bread? (And a safe recipe for Boomer and Sparks!)
Hi guys,
So Enoki has been less than enthusiastic about her birdy bread. I was wondering how you guys offer it to your loves? My breeder crumbled hers up and then offered, and Enoki seems to just pick up a piece and toss it. I know some people leave theirs in 1 inch squares...what do you guys do?
I made up a new batch today that is very moist and dense compared to her old stuff. Here is the recipe (good for Boomer and Sparks, no pesky sugar!):
1 cup cornmeal
1 egg
1 tablespoon baking powder
3 jars assorted baby food (I used all fruits in this case, but for Boomy an Sparks, you could easily do veggies if they can't have the sugary fruit)
1/2 cup finely diced/food processed diced bell peppers
1 cup finely chopped/food processed chard (or whatever other greens)
1/2 cup pellets
This filled about 1/2 of your regular loaf pan, took about 45 minutes to bake at 350, and is very dense and moist. I cut it into 1 inch cubes, it made about 40.
