    Wow. That's awesome.

I wonder how she keeps it so clean and how she can cater to each bird's diet needs when they all eat together?

That is amazing!!! At first, when they showed the Victoria Crowned Pigeon, I thought, was a tiny house for it. Then she went on to say that it was a station for the birds (one among many) and I thought, duh. I wish we had the weather here to allow outdoor living. Lucky lucky lady. Heck! Lucky lucky birds!!

I'm glad they specifically said the birds were captive bred and raised because it may give crazies some ideas about what they can keep. Sigh...

That was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. It gives me some ideas, if I'm ever fortunate enough to be able to afford home renovations like that. Maybe not so extreme, but definitely ideas to make our house more bird-friendly. I especially love the tree trunk.

I have seen it! On a hamster forum I used to go to, this man had taken those plastic hamster tubes (ugh I have spent like $100 on those things - ridic) and made a maze all along the walls and ceiling in his living room, connecting from a ham cage on one side to a ham cage on the other. It was really neat looking but I can't IMAGINE cleaning that - it's just not practical to take them down once a month and soak them in cleaning solution!

    Re: That's a bird house

At the aviary I was told that crown victoria pigeons are endangered and cannot be kept privately? I was also told that they should not be pet and stroked like that because the oils on human hands deteriorate their feathers.
OH - and I'd have to make my kitchen OFF LIMITS to the birds - I just noticed she has all kinds of perches over her pots and pans and that is just really gross. I'm sure she keeps them out of the kitchen while she's cooking but I wouldn't want to have to clean bird poo out of my cooking vessels on a daily basis.
