I'm sure if "the Grey's" owner comes along, she'll explain why "the Grey" was eating a cheezie...good thing you either didn't notice or were too polite to mention that "the B&G" was eating a cheezie too

I believe the explanation would go something like this....."Ummm...because he likes them"

C'mon, a Cheezie here or there is not going to hurt. How would you like life without the occasional chocolate chip cookie or ice cream sundae.

Thanks Becky...and yes, you did spell it right although I don't know that I'm the "Birdman"...I just wander around annoying people by taking pics of their birds and blinding the owners with the flash...the birds don't seem to care about the flash at all...

That sucks big time...because of what we are used to here, your type of meeting would seem almost pointless...if it weren't for the birds, I don't think I'd be going to the meetings...I couldn't see the point in taking pics of the owners

Same here...if it wasn't for the birds, I wouldn't see the point of going to the meetings year after year...I think I'd have enough with one (year).

And Peter... I DID notice the macaw munching on a cheezie as well. It's just the grey caught my eye more, because... well... it reminded me of Kaylaur right away, and because my first thought (once I realized it was a cheezie) was, "oh hey! Kaylaur would probably love those!" (Shhhhhh)

Sadly, I've been told Kaylaur needs to lose some weight by his vet, so I'll hold off the cheezies for now. God knows he eats enough stuff now that I am certain is not helping his diet. Pffft - diet. He weighed in at 508 grams - I don't know why he has to lose weight. He seems to be within the correct range. It's not like he's 600g.

That is my Grey "Abby" and my B&G "Portia" I'm very proud to say. That is indeed a cheesie they both have. As you can tell by Peter's awesome pics both birds are in exellent health. Any body who knows me and my fids will tell you that I take exellent care of them. I believe that a 'treat' very occasionally will not hurt them. We eat many things daily that are not good for us.

You should be proud Penny...Portia and Abby always appear healthy, alert and well taken care of. Some may have noticed...Portia and Abby also happen to be two of my favourite birds for photographing...Portia will get animated at times and Abby has never once looked like she was uncomfortable with me just walking up and snapping away. You do a great job with them Penny, there's no reason to feel like a bad parront...

You should not feel bad at all - your Portia is gorgeous! (I can't remember seeing Abby). We give our guys different foods that aren't good for them. We stay away from the obvious toxic foods for them, but in moderation we do give them our food.

You're a great parront and don't let anyone ever tell you differently.

That's my little quaker Yogi-bird, and he isn't attacking <chuckle>. He's nibbling on my fingers (his favourite pastime).

The plaster you see is from a tug from another bird I was playing with. I got side-tracked while playing, and looked away to talk to a friend. The bird gave a little (and I do mean little) tug on my finger. I had a small scratch on that finger, and just the tug made it bleed. I take low-dose daily aspirin, so it doesn't take much to get my blood going so to speak

No birds or humans were injured during the taping of this meeting

Why do I feel like a bad parront now?

Oh my gosh Penny - PLEASE don't feel like a bad parront! Abby and Portia are both gorgeous birds! I just found it funny, that's all, cuz I truly thought it was a carrot at first glance, then birdie bread, then it ends up a cheezie. Maybe I just have a strange sense of humour, but with my mind going through that thought process, and ending up with a cheezie in Abby's foot... well, it just seemed hilarious to me! And I meant it when I said that the pic of Abby with the cheezie (once I clued in that it was a cheezie ) really did make me think "oh, I bet Kaylaur would LOVE those!"

There is absolutely nothing wrong with giving our fids the occassional yum yum. Kaylaur gets his fair share, trust me! (Guess that's why his vet thinks he needs to go on a diet )
